wtf are u saying? crazybump has NOTHING to do with shaders! it can create normal maps, not much more... also nDo, a Photoshop Plugin (for free!) is waay better for what u intend it for.
How are you intending to create the brick archway; a unique asset with sculpted in bricks or just a tilable texture? Always wondered what was used most commonly in cases like this. Looking good, will be watching...!
found this: http://www.photo3d.com/download_win.htm its sex. it just completely does what its supposed to do. no nonsense. and the tutorial is similarly no-nonsense. its perfect for what i intended it for: proportion measurement.
But of course! Flats'll be posted once i'm a bit more happy with them. I'm intending to give him a body as well, but the torso is still on the concept-stage, so it'll probably be a little while.
00Zer: Haha I was intending to make him bald in the beginning. Cojax: Workin on it! Gonna finish my DWIV entry and then I'll do some smaller scale, lower poly, and stylized pieces. :)
I've been meaning to start one of these for awhile... Gonna start with a dump of the finished pieces I've made since I -intended- to get this going, and end up with some WIPs of what I'm working on now, and hopefully all new pieces moving forward.
Thank you @sacboi for the positive feedback ! Indeed i had to rework the shaders quite a few times to capture the intended results, painful process but in the end it paid off haha
Thanks for the feedback! That does make sense about the hilt and the metals. I actually do plan to make the sheath. I also intend to make a nifty display stand, a la:
Small update: Still working on it, but I've had to put it on hold for the most part. Freelance work (read: money) has taken priority for now. But I do intend to finish this.
Depending on what the intended use of the mesh is though, you may want to rework some of the areas for better deformation, or relax it and aim for a more consistent density if you plan on sculpting.
