yeah, that's why I mentioned MCG. But it's even more convoluted than Houdini. Probably a reason why nobody use it really . Kind of same story as with shader FX. I loved it it ones it was a 3d party plugin. Simple like 2x2 and instantly understandable with lots of ready examples. After Autodesk implementation it became…
Yeah, inside a Bitmap map there is a rollout called Coordinates. Make sure the radio button for Texture is active, and make sure the dropdown next to it is set to Explicit Map Channel. The UI is shown about halfway down here.…
I think milkshape was dead before 2010. I forgot to say before, i am talking about the generalist tools. I agree with you Isperia, seams that autodesk is more focused on Maya. But 3d max is still very nice tool. Blender improve a lot in the last years. I prefer modelling and sculpting everything in Blender and Zbrush then…
Does seem weird to me that a smaller app isn't more focused on the games market. Maybe architectural renders etc are where the big bucks are - but I'm still waiting for a modeller, baker and painter that are designed for our industry rather than for films and tv then adapted (zbrush and texturing for example or maya/max's…
I thought they've learned somethings from their previous experience and April 30th is the last date. But wow, even though years of experience they didn't learn anything, but users learned about them. I think this is my first time saying this but "a software" would be better with Autodesk. At least they know the meaning of…
That's really weird. The following two suggestions will delete your custom hotkeys and menus. 1. Try going to Customize > Customize UI and Default Switcher and pick Default UI. See if that helps. OR 2. Close Max. Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\ and Rename your "2014 - 64bit" folder to anything else.…
I was in the closed beta for that, and while i havent followed up on any improvements made to it... my impression is that it seemed like a novel concept but based on experience far from usable. Autodesk just announced that they have maya and max running from a browser too, so its kind of unfortunate for clara.io. I wish…
Lol glad you liked it! Please share it with your fellow hard-surface artists by link back to my Gumroad page, hopefully some will consider to give a donation if they found it very useful ;) Yeah technically all Max version that has a build in Chamfer Modifier with Quad Chamfer option *should* work, if Autodesk didn't…
Well depends, when it comes to Autodesk and Windows I tend to update as late as possible, only when I'm forced to because frankly their newer versions are always buggy as shit for years, or just straight up broken in some aspects. Especially when you try to use their newest versions together... :D Otherwise I'm always…
Workbench also has great key filters - which curve doesn't. I use key reduction a lot (for mocap data). Biped's biggest virtue is it's super easy to setup, and once you have a tonne of bip files and a pose library you can knock out variations very fast (motion mixer and motion flow are also fantatstic for this). I do feel…
