I'm currently trying to create some rocks in Cryengine. I've been looking at the default assets from the engine since there are some rather nice looking rocks in there and i think i'm on to something, but i don't know how to recreate it yet. Let me explain: It's a fairly simple shape with a global smoothing group. The…
okay this is being typed fast so excuse my shortness 1st model: Face looks pretty nice, I am liking the texture and the some of the shapes you fleshed out in zbrush... The upper body is decent but def a step down from the face...then the legs look like a blob with a foot and some random muscular shapes. The Legs are a…
Hey Jeremy, I was also looking around for example reels of other FX artists to see what kind of things they have in their reels. These are a few I found that maybe helpful to you :) http://www.abelzhang.com/index.htm http://www.sethvfx.com/ http://www.visualdetour.com/ http://walomerson.com/info/portfolio.html…
Thats a nice model you ve got there, I will suggest you to spend some time testing shaders in vray, right now the painted metal is looking ok but I am sure you can play a lot more with reflections/fresnel. Even more with the other metal types and plastics . Also the rubber in the wheel is looking flat right now you might…

Hey hope you dont mind me doing a paint over but thought it may help to point out what i meant. Yeah I gotta agree with Sup about taking more time to really make the texture come to life. Right now it looks like a first pass and is very, very bland and plain. You could have done a lot more with the textures. For example…
The first thing that jumps out at me is that it would be very useful to allow users to assign their own hotkeys for the various different tools and settings. This seems like the type of program where you want to be able to work fluently without having to directly access to the interface too often. I think you could also…
A Friend's band is going to play @ Stubbs in June. And he wants to have an animation / music video ready by then. It's been awhile since I have been in Austin. and the studio I worked for has migrated to San Diego. I was hoping that perhaps out of the many austin-ites here... One may have a friend talented enough with cg /…
Hey guys, I'm interested in building a gaming/workstation pc. I am willing to flex my budget a little but I would like to stick around 5k. A few questions I have is how much RAM do I need? How much VRAM should the graphics card have? Is it better two have 1 or 2 graphics cards? What type of monitor is most beneficial? Just…
Been trying out the latest version of Blender (2.66), and have a few questions I was hoping some of the Blender users around here might be able to answer: -How do you use enable flat color (shadeless) for painting? I've tried messing around with the "N" menus shading types (GLSL, Multitexture, SingleTexture) and their…
