One thing I ran into while working on the mesh was connecting pieces together and not having the edges line up. Are there any suggested methods for bringing edges together across pieces or collapsing edges when merging?
It looks like there is a line that runs down the middle of the rail that could be removed. There is also some kind of ring on the front which I'm assuming is for the strap. That could probably made floating instead of merged with the main body.
Good post Ninjas :) You give some good insights into what it takes to be an indie developer. You ought to get it merged with that other thread so it doesn't get buried, or maybe just re-post it in there.
I found info in this thread and @Jerc mentions that this will be addressed in the next hotfix. https://polycount.com/discussion/137389/substance-painter-latest-build-2018-2/p6 Hopefully this helps anyone else that runs into this issue.
I've found it's possible to get the masking looking how I want it all over the map, then merge all the layers and paint out the bits I don't want then hit done on the mask window in DDO.
Yes you have to be fast on polycount. I don't have the power to delete GD stuff, so maybe we'll see a thread merge happening soon. This game could teach Gundam a thing or two.
Very nice model. Just want to add that sometimes the smoothing errors can appear because of non connected vertices. So always check if everything is properly merged. Keep up the good work. o/
you could try using Modifier Panel> Change to Compound objects>(With MEsh Selected) Shape Merge> Pick Shape. Done You will have your shape projected onto the MEsh u want to cut into.
In addition to what Jerc mentioned, also note that the svg is not handled the same way when it is inside the graph and inside the explorer window, that's probably why you can preview it when double clicking on it in the explorer window.
One thread is enough. I would merge them, but that would inevitably mess up the conversation order. So, closing this and asking you to head here. Thanks... https://polycount.com/discussion/208172/adobe-substance
