It seems indie development is more programmer centric. Unfortunately all the people I know who want to make games are also artists - I've tried to learn programming on and off for the last 15 years but just don't think like a programmer, I even started going to college for it as a teenager before I switched to art.
Unity utilises static batching meaning that all meshes that are static and uses the same material is batched into one drawcall. The scene isn't optimized, I could throw all textures into one atlas at this moment but since I'm not sure how many props will be added etc this will be done later, but It never climbs above 15…
Changing the Voxel volume size so it just covers the building and surrounds helps. But Light from the lower floor still finds it way into the upper floor - which shouldn't really be the case... Still feels wrong to me. I've been a lighting artist for 15 years so I hopefully have a good feel for stuff like this :-)
They have 2 batches in the master's course, one that starts in Sep & an other that starts in Feb (Both of them are masters) but the duration of the course is different. The one that starts in Sep is a year whereas the one that starts in Feb is 15 months. My question is, although both of them are the same masters course,…
EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY! I was about to write out some rap battles for max/maya but I forgot I can rap. Spent 15 minutes trying to come up with something, all I came up with was a line about max's UI is dookie, it is a bigger waste of space than Jersey Shores Snooki.
@Ericewell: I'm also a big fan of their humor. I spent a bunch of time moving around and composing the characters which was the challenging part. Once I started the line work, its auto-pilot, chill time. This is the most relaxing type of art for me. I probably spent about 15 hrs on the line drawing.
how small ? last time i tried the trial the file size was only 15-20% smaller so a 3.5gb file was something like 2.7 as i remember ztl files are almost 1/10 of mud files. big difference and saves lot of time in transfering. has there been significant update to that in service pack 1 ?
Hey Revic, I'm willing to help take a look if there's still time, but I can't open your Max 15 (or 16) file since I only have 2013, so if you could save off your file to the earliest Max version possible or as FBX or OBJs and upload them, I'd be happy to help if possible.
Anyone who judges a game buy what the developers say at the announcement and not from there actually experience can suck a d. I'm just kidding... I just think gamers should realize that there is a lot of gameplay to be had in it. $25 = Campaign $20 = Firefight $15+ = All the halo 3 MP DLC That is my break down...
After some fiddling I've noticed that exposing a parameter will reveal it as what-it-is ie, exposing the pattern type of a tile generator shows you the capsule "variable" is integer 15 in its list now the if/else makes sense, but I'm still not sure where you can type in specific code? or even if there is documentation on…
