Hey Polycount, Finally getting around to starting this character that was designed by one of my favorite artists Marc Brunet. Here is my rough blockout (emphasis on rough). Hopefully I can do his concept justice at the end.
Thanks, I was anticipating that. :( But yeah, the best way seems to be avoiding some material experimentations in these early concept stages as it's more problematic to work on blockouts and concepts if you break them up just to experiment with materials in engine.
Calling this sculpt done now. Added a blockout of the hair to fix any issues with the hair while I've been working on the topology of the clothes. Going to add any skin details now and then the head is ready for full retopology.
This looks like only the first step in a blockout, it looks like you still need to do the highpoly (turbo smooth and sud-d) Then once you build a low poly version to bake to, it will be much easier to unwrap
This is a good blockout mesh. You nailed the proportions and the silhouette, and sarted to get some detail into the model. Are you planning on making this into a High Poly to then bake that detail down onto a Low Poly? Thereafter texturing this Desert Eagle?
Some Tin Woodsman blockout progression. Started concepting my Dorothy. :) I know Toto is just a normal Toto right now, (just kinda angry.) I may reinvent him as well, not sure yet.
Thanks, man. I've decided to recreate the garage with some creative freedom. Want to do some dirty old models and shaders for it. Current blockout, but still considering camera angel and how many props I need for it.
small update of my gun. After established my blockout yesterday, I now start refinining all the shapes. Working my way from front to the back. Hope you guys like it so far.
Zbrush can Dynamesh triangulated mesh without any issue. If you're using Max to model the blockout mesh, try to convert it to editable mesh then back to editable poly, sometimes it does fix some weird stuff.
Going back to a project I had started earlier in this thread. Started working on some clothing and getting more practice with marvelous. Also started on a blockout for a sekiro arm prosthetic Might turn it into a full character later.
