Study: My lil' bud So I decided to model my little succulent plant as a texture experiment. Surprisingly, I was able to almost texture the whole plant only by using AO based masks and level nodes. Bud IRL, Penny for scale
Thanks. They're combination of zbrush+dynamesh and regular subdivision workflow. I might updated them with wireframe after I texture them. Stay tune :) IRD Snipe-IR High Poly I didn't use zbrush for this one, just regular subdivision.
Hey Polycount! Here is a model I made for Shardbound. Juro's Cat form ~12,000 Tris. 2048x2048 texture. Model and Texturing by Chris Bennett Art Direction by Joshua Nadelberg Concept by Nicholas Kole Rigging by Ira Goeddel https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ZmRwX
IIRC they couldn't use texture filtering, so it's all Nearest Neighbor. I also recall textures not being sampled correctly in perspective, so sometimes you would get pixels swimming as they went across triangle borders. Especially when deforming meshes.
I love how, in the film, the people who build the arc decided to hired someone to record "Incommin crash", : "10sec until countown end" voice sound. . they expected that exact situation I guess! ... D e l e t e! ben
Sorry if this got posted already, but that Ira Glass quote always comes to mind when I read threads like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5-yCv0BIhA Everything he says is spot on. Do a huge volume of work and get through the wall.
It is sad when people are let go but I wanted to let everyone know about opportunities at Kin Valley, kinvalley.com. We are hiring designer and Flash developers. Send resumes to careers(at)kinvalley.com or contact me. Zuzana Kin Valley Inc. Project manager
A collection you say.... http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136390 But the Toolbag 2 tuts cover it super well. iirc this just has a bunch of other links and compiled info, some helpful and super accurate, some less so, and some examples. ;)
motives: absolutely! i used to really enjoy playing 2-player Tyrian (inc. "Destruct" cheat mini-game), and 3-player Threat (if your keyboard can handle it...) Might also want to take a look at Armagetron, it's good for killing some time
Agreed with everyone here: you've got one killer portfolio. Two crits on the site though. First off the header looks left aligned while the rest of the site is centered. It irks me. Secondly, more tuts! I must learn the ways of the Pior!
