It's not obvious at first; when I say upsidedown I mean rotated 180 degrees so the normals are facing down on the W axis, the result being that they're backwards. This is easily confirmable by turning on backface culling or with just a simple selection: like so (Edit: Or more inteligently, with a non-symmetrical model…
Hello, After reading many of the FAQ questions, I cant seem to find the true answer of rules. My question is, are we required to design our animations with a specific LOL character in mind? Or can we make animations that simply feel would fit in the game using a unique rig? Post#61 Says we don't need to base it off a…
Hi, I'm making a model in Maya. I'm a beginner so I'm solving one issue at a time. This is my model. Now you'll notice that the other wheel is missing. So I duplicate the wheel on this side and move it over to the other side and change the Y rotation value to 180. It becomes black and I couldn't figure out why. Like this I…

Oh yea parasite Eve, that was great! Weird and kind of gross, but great. They did a weird mix of pre-rendered and 3D so their cameras where not as interactive, which was fine but you could tell the higher production value on some of the backgrounds locked in certain elements and forced things to feel a little too composed…

Step 1: With nothing selected Shit+RMB Hold Mouse over Create Helix. Step 2: Create helix like any other primitive. Step 3: Set the PolyHelix Settings to mimic the settings that I have on my screen shot. Step 4: Duplicate the PolyHelix And rotate it on Y 180 Degrees. To make a longer rope before step 4, just snap your…
Hi, I'm trying to make a shockwave just when a energy ball explodes. This shockwave is made out of a mesh emitter (sphere) that quickly expands with a refraction (glass material with a water normal map on it) material on it to simulate hot air that distorts everything. But some weird stuff is hapening and it's not working…
As have been mentioned, you either need a rather long loop, or you need a short generic one. If you go with the long one, try to stay away from big and distinctive movements. You can put those in randomized loops instead. If you go for a short-loop approach try to just make the character breathe. On 30 fps a 180 long…
