I think it's still looking too clean right now. Grime on the walls, between some of the bricks, and additional water stains, particularly under the overhangs. Beyond that it looks really good, and really well lit :)
Looks great Bokaja. My only crit is that his pants and boots are dirty and warn and the shirt is not. Perhaps carry that over to the shirt and tie. Maybe some sweat stains or something. Great work none the less. :)
Hmmm, now I take a closer look and I need to agree with Box. U should add more stains on jacket. Catch me later I will tell U more precisely. Cheers buddy.
Took a break from the trees! The completely empty and black windows were bothering me! Came up with a quick stained glass window and regular window variant. Also have an emissive map to give it a nice glow. Might try to do a fake interior also.
I added some decals for water stains and grime. I went back and re-did the vertex coloring. I used it to add variety to the pottery and change the color of the stone for the chests. I finished the chests and pottery. Changed the lighting a bit more. Detail lighting:
Yeah that definitely helps thanks man. I'm trying to figure out how exactly I would get my fire emitters to follow my transition material. Not sure how I could get that to work. It would be cool if there was a way to spawn particles by texture.
Here is my latest project, This will be a internal scene of an abandoned loft. I planed make a creepy looking scene. so this picture I found online will act as basic reference. those texture work will based on real photos but may hand painting for stains, dirts.
@LordSebbington: Cool work Seb, gross but great! I sprained my arm last Friday so I had to let it rest a bit, but I did a few quick studies looking at a couple of Mario game icons and some of their possible real world inspirations:
Cool slideshow here with 50 images of props from the new movie, some nice wear reference; http://www.wired.com/2015/11/star-wars-force-awakens-props The weapons look particularly beaten up, I'm liking that heat staining on some of the blasters
I think there needs to be some more age and stains to add more character to the scene. Spills on the tables, floor or walls. Also what is burning in the lanterns? Maybe that would cause slight darkening right above them as the repeated use causes residue to build up.
