I am looking forward to a sequel. I caught the boondock saints fever in middle school and it was out on VHS by then so I was a little late coming into it. I think 9 years later and here I am. I never thought I would see the day the sequel came out.
Yeah, see the reason the original Auto-9 worked well is because the beretta 92 has a fixed barrel, meaning the slide moves past it cleanly. On a Glock, the chamber actually sticks up some, so to get past it, the barrel actually tilts back so the slide can move over that.
Vig and Kio thanks for the replys, after playing around a bit I think I'm gonna go with the hair/fur solution. I do have a question though...Is there a better way (in Max 9) to project the grass onto a plane than simply rendering out a front view and photoshopping that into a texture?
Maybe try this one: http://www.katsbits.com/files/md3/Max6ExportMD3.zip Made for Max6 but might work with 9. I know it works with 7 and 8. Hosting and handy list of files courtesy of Kat. Side note: I found this by searching "md3 export max" in Google, it was the 3rd link down...
Just got my copy from houseparty, and seems I won a free copy of Windows 7 Signature Ultimate Edition. I was shocked but I've also been beta testing it since The beginning as well. But I am totally stoked, after the install I'm gonna test it with maya 9.
Are you skinning with Biped? Max 9 (maybe the newer versions too) had a glitch where when u copied a collection (for posing), it would duplicate that collection many many times. It may be too late at this point, but try an Autoback file: it might have saved a smaller version before crash.
After trying all of your suggestions, ImSlightlyBored's is the one that worked, but thanks to everyone! I figured you'd have to hide the geo somehow, just didn't know how. But an Edit Poly on top worked. Weird stuff. And yeah, I'm using Max 9 32bit - SP2 with all hotfixes by the way.
Probably because big companies want to stick to their IP. Call of Duty 9 and Halo 13 and Fifa 2084, and what not. Meanwhile, indie groups do not have the capability to make AAA games, nor do they want to make the same stupid games guys in suits tell them to.
Rise from your grave! They've released a 3dsmax preset for Blender 2.66 and it works pretty well. The navigation is there, as is the sub object selection keys and WER for move/rotate/scale. Get it here: http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detail&aid=28452&group_id=9&atid=127
Actually, this is something I've never been sure about. Earlier in my course I pushed floating geometry too far (I would have used 9 polys instead of the 15 you've used on that piece furthest right) and ended up with a nightmare trying to unwrap and texture.
