hmm £90 a year seems quite a lot, I will look into it. I thought it was at least £15 a month, so £7 a month doesn't seem that bad. If it also allows commercial uses I could always put some stuff on the unity store to make some money off the investment.
here, I made some slight adjustments. what I did was add a slight warm screen layer... pulled down to about 15% or so and added lighter values to the stone to make it pop a little more. at this point, it is just fussing with the final 10% of the texture. overall, this is really good :)
Im only 15 years old and its my dream job to work at Epic games. This stuff is truely Gut wrenching from how damn gorgeous it is. Absolutely my favorite Art style's is UT3 and GoW, so its not hard for me to fall in love with the visuals instantly :p
Should be able to use alphatest and get it working, as far as I know. Not done anything close to 2000 polys of hair but I've had several planes of grass (maybe 15 planes from front to back) working fine with a really basic alphatested shader I threw together in ShaderFX.
gahh! 3.5 gig, my monthly limit is 5gb, i think i gotta get that downloaded somwere else (sucks to be on the internet via 3G, the country beginning aprox 100 meters south of here sells 15gb 3g flatrates for 15€/month, but you have to be austrian 0_o)
Update on the textures, and less polys this time around. Just above 17k now with all the accessories, less than 15 k without them. Some more specmapping going on, the boots still need some more pronounced and sharp dirt, and various parts are still in need of much love :]
I live in New Zealand, have to wait another 15 days till it comes out. Sounds bad but back in the days when Sony was king we would literally have to wait months and months and months to get games that where out everywhere else. I cant wait
It wont suck, it looks pretty decent even. Im happy they decided to go the Multiplayer Arena way and not just a darken air-shaft populated by brain eating zombies that were infected by some vilain mega-corporation. And also thanks for not hadding 15 inch layers of normalmaps everywhere and textures
Blendshapes could be an option and it's simple. You'd only need to animate 15-20 wires (which could be one object) to get enough movement for it to look good. And using 3 or 4 blend shapes would add variety enough for it to look different every time is opened. Just a thought.
DVDs of movies I liked 15 years ago- Buckaroo Banzai, Ford Fairline etc. I had bother getting american sherrif trousers a few years ago - in case I was a terrorist. One guy said he'd sell them to me as long as I wasn't a terrorist.
