I guess it depends on how you're going to texture it. Point to point seams, Pelt and Relax would be my guess but only if you're using something like Z-brush for the texture... It potentially would be crappy to texture like that in PS.
Your problem is that you are using a simple post effect inside of 3dsmax. Which is only applied after the image is rendered. Because your glass object occludes the sphere inside of the z-buffer its not visible for the post effect creation.
I swizzled the coordinates in xNormal to be 'X+ Y- Z+', so no it's not that... The normal map is displaying correctly on the side of the model that does not have inverted faces, but not the mirrored side. Just can't get my head around it. Thanks for your reply!
Small update, bit of a problem with the arms and the shape and definition but i really don't feel lie cutting in muscle definition especially in 3ds max, the shapes a bit off and tubular but that can all be fixed nicely in Z brush later on.
I don't think you've captured the likeness very well, so if that's your intention, I would start again with the head. It justs looks like a generic head from a PS2 game. Try sculpting a head in Z-Brush.
Because the grid only exists on the XY plane in the perspective view, that's the only way you can snap. AFAIK, you'll have to switch to a side ortho view to grid snap on the Z axis. It'd be nice if the grid was "3D", though.
Usualy making the object pivot become the center of transformation (z) will fix the clipping thing. But if that doesn't help click the [Perspective] on the viweport and choose "viewport clipping" then drag the slider on the right side of that particular viewport to adjust the clipping distance. _Revel
I have a question, since this is gonna be my first realistic high poly character, and i've really never modelled for movie purposes before... What is good workflow to do this? (gonna use max and z-brush) thanks in advance ;)
Only crit I have, is about your proportions for sexy female, should be more like this :P try and keep the z intensity down next time :P for outfit, [looks at Rens picture] ah cat maybe, catwoman!
Quads, there are some triangles there you want to turn into quads. Z-Brush doesn't like tris, I think Mudbox is the same way? Outside of that what kind of issues are you running into? Just having trouble laying strokes down?
