This is the easiest way I can image: But for a sword grip a simple cylinder should also be enough. (or maybe just a twistet cylinder) -

there's nothing mechanically wrong with the model because the sword is lying on it's side, the bottom surface is reflecting the ground - which is darker than the sky -

I dig it. I would suggest making the sword handle a little thicker, and improving the fire a bit, but looks great overall. -

Skyward Sword has an amazing art direction, but looks like ass on my Wii. Playing it on Dolphin @ 1080p is the way to go. -

Finished the Sword thats part of the Hammer and Bow set above. Plan on getting a dagger Shield and Axe in there sometime soon too. -

That sword looks great! You should try to create some more complicated weapons/props/etc. to get better faster.
