Yeah I've loaded other tools then swapped back, I've even done some other successful topology edits to meshes started in zbrush since hitting this problem. I can still select all the verts I've got and very occasionally it will let me place a new one, but never connect any after the first few. Maybe it's just meshes… -

the best way to do this is make the terrain in your 3d program then bring it in to unreal and build a layered complex shader for your materials to swap between the textures ur wanting to mix together on your terrain. either that or build your assets with the thought that you are going to sculpt the terrain in ut3 and then… -

if all you've got and want is an alpha map, try just using masked material type it isn't soft (so any sort of soft edge/translucent materials you want will be eternal fail) but for stuff like cage mesh etc it would be fine.
