If you were local to me in Austin I'd totally be up to collaborate on a custom built interface! See if there's any hackerspace/makerspace groups in your area, it isn't that hard to fabricate the circuitry needed. Foot pedals, dials, or a custom made control pad for your good hand could be fabricated without too much fuss. -

Thanks for advertising, but I need to say that SplitRing, included in IC.Shape 2, works much better, is faster and more undo friendly than the IC.PolySplitRing standalone version. I recommend to use the newest one. If you're annoyed by the full interface, just double click on the header image to minimize it then bury it… -

I use 3dsmax too, I've tried out a few tools but in the end I pretty much stick to max. good job tackling the problem, haven't tried it, but what approach did you take running things through the com interface and controlling photoshop from mayas python interpreter. or writing JS code for Photoshop to run? EU vs pixologic in 3... 2... 1... shame though. i saw it on their forums a few days ago. that came out of the blue. a while back i acquired a license this way as well with a decent savings. always thought their stance on it all was very cool. so refreshingly non-corporate. zbrush with ribbon interface next? ;) -

dzibarik: haha yeah thats Magnus, he also works at Machinegames, he is awesome : ) I just control it per material instance which I ahve a handy interface for. But you can control it with node shading, and could probably tie it to weighting aswell if you wanted to. Have not dug that deep into it myself yet though. -

But... If you use "texture sample parameters" then you have make that huge mat only once, and for other meshes you can make material instances. It will have texture slots and you wont have to remake the mat. It will give you a different interface where you can change only parameters and there won't be any nodes. -

I sometimes like games, but don't like the engine used. At that point I wish they'd used an engine I did like. It wouldn't surprise me if some existing game redux mods were born of similar sentiments. Quake II and original UT were like that for me - loved the gameplay and hated the interface.
