@Crazy_pixel Thanks :) Didn't develop the story behind them yet, I let it develop along the way. At first I wanted to make a character surrounded with furry weird phantoms from the wild.. but when added the creature I thought to give him a coat, still deciding how to wrap it up..
Finally wrapped up N8t with the help of a little vacation time at the end of the year! It might be a little while before I have time to make another character, but I'll be sure to post it here whenever I do. You can see the full ArtStation project here
Well, I need like 8-10 types of character animations (walking, standing, still pose with some sort of random motion + animations of other random stuff). You have any idea how feasible this might be? If it is possible to wrap up in a month or so? Thanks!
And some newer stuff I just wrapped this guy up as a quick modeling project And I'm currently working on this. I've hit kind of a wall on it and am trying to figure out the best way to go back and simplify the accessories so they're not as high-poly as they are. Ok that's it for now!
You can probably use transfer attributes to do the shrink wrap but you're going to lose your ubsubdivided mesh. I wouldn't touch maya with a bargepole if I was making something like that tbh. You've just demonstrated there are free tools that do the job significantly better..
It was quite nice in the first few months. I more or less hit the ground running, creating lots of mini-cinematics for Master of Orion 2, which was being wrapped up. It was challenging but very rewarding work (although not exactly stellar quality, for a number of reasons). Good times!
Okay, Thanks. As I understood even if the textures are provided they cant be wrapped around a typical (already existing) character 3d shape, there is still something missing. How do I have to approach this? Lets say the base idea and 2D textures have to be provided by an 2D-painter.
Wrapping up everything and here is my results! This is part 1 of 2 for my subway development. Ill post some more images soon of part 2 that I have started as well. Also ill give a bit of a breakdown to the tunnel setup from maya soon.
@Pathologist - I hadn't had the chance to respond because my school finals have me wrapped up! =] But thank you so much for the post and description. I'm making my attempts to get this working on some basic things. Will post any updates hopefully soon!
Personally, the most useful desks that I've experienced are wrap arounds (or 2 desks one vert one horiz) and sliding panels... and Anything that promotes easy access notes / reference but not in the way of working. Course this would be something for a home desktop and I guess not studio estate worthy.
