Hey Polycount, working on an Orc pit fighter character as a final project in my Creature Modeling Class. I'll be posting progress here. Here's a WIP sculpt and just getting started on polypaint I still need to make him a weapon and figure out a pose The end goal is to get him posed and rendered by the 18th C+C appreciated

Hello everyone, Lately I have been focusing on how to effectively train to get a character concept art job and I would like to develop a portfolio that consists of 2d and 3d pieces. I have found that zbrush is extremely powerful for visualizing a complete object and the ability to take it into programs like keyshot and…
Hi there Polycount, this is a concept-piece I am currently doing. The concept is about a mining-company on an alien planet where some sort of Lem-ish Solaris creature is living. The creature is meant to be like a smart liquid which can change aggregate-states from fluid to solid to attack or flee. This guy is the first who…
NPCs for the game "The Mobius Machine" from Madruga Works https://madrugaworks.com/mobius/ The action takes place on the Isolaria moon, a world barely colonized by humans in the past and infested of vicious local species which the player should fight while explore the abandoned facilities of the colony. Some of these…
Very nice stuff Jelmer. Nicely polished reel editing and rendering too. The expressions on the first 2 creatures are really cool, the chicken thing looks a little odd though, like it's grinning in a dumb fashion - I preferred the look of the coloured painted head concept for it later in the reel. The poses are good too,…
I thought it's common knowledge from all the BTS material and Scott interviews that they only settled for the human legs because as hard as they tried, no other solution has worked. They had a guy standing on his hands, they had ideas on using two people, and so on, but visibility was way too bad already. Also you were…
First time doing a blood splatter. THank god for Andreas Glad's tutorial. I'm slowly getting more familiar with houdini, and I"d really like to put it into my every day usage. (It's the waiting that gets me. I'd like a computer with more cores, but thats going to have to wait.). SO this effect is meant to be a blood impact…
Hey man, always great to see beginners having the courage to show their work. I'm not a character artist, so I'll leave specific critique up to those who know what they're talking about, but I can predict that they will mention the importance of anatomy. Even for monsters and creatures you'll need a solid understanding of…
Thanks. I understand why when dealing with hardsurface, but I couldn't understand the reason for say a round ball looking creature which doesn't have those degree shifts and by making every seam hard you'll see hard seams when baking when you don't want it.
