cheers seth, I did mangage to work it out, but used the curve slice rather than polygroups works ok, but still not the level of control of doing it by hand also, seth does n't the curve strength need to be lower to make it stronger?
glow maps...i can't find good info on the net bout these dudes. anyone have a quickie tut? oxynary, hope you don't mind me asking that in your thread. i need to know how to make one. thanks
eww one of the most awesome things about games from Blizzard were the cinematics they were the most polished at the time, I remember Starcraft cinematics and thought they were the dogs nuts. It would be a shame if they use low poly knock offs.
Nice work considering you're using a mouse for it, mate. I'm almost tempted to see if I can still work with a mouse, but then that's like saying I'm tempted to try hooking my nuts up to a car battery. Edit: And I am.
I found these links helpful, good overviews, especially the first two. They don't go down into the math nuts and bolts, but they do discuss a wide range of graphics processing, in layman accessible terms. http://www.rsart.co.uk/mediawiki/index.php?title=Links
Jeezus...you sure did crank out some textures pretty quick! Nice work man and I agree, the boots are crying for some sort of addition. Compared to the rest of the model, it seems a bit bare down there. That's a nit pick though ;-)
The satellite dish is too deep, it should be a lot shalower. Take a look at some reffs on the net. It will also look smoother with the amount of polys you have if you have it shaped correctly. The rest looks good to me but I'm not an environment artist.
I might have watched it, if I did n't dislike the entire genre of comics he spawned. I see no nobility in depression and failure, and little "entertainment" in the mundane and small. I was working in comics when this guy started publishing. Scott
Yeah a guy I worked with at Best Buy has something like a year of game time played. The dude is insane! He's a great guy though just plays a bit too much wow. I mean a full year! That's nuts.
I usually listen to the Adam Carolla podcast like HausFly mentioned. It can be hit or miss sometimes though. Not a podcast, but I listen to Adam Carolla's old loveline radio show with Dr. Drew. The callers are ridiculous. http://loveline.phil21.net/
