Looks very cool! I have to say, the aesthetic of the character and of the bow don't seem to match. Is there a reason for that? The rendering/modeling style matches, but the girl looks kind of modern and rockabilly and the bow looks more high scifi/fantasy.
this isn't AS fantasy as alot of other aesthetics shown here but i would still consider it stylised (reminds me of syd meads guache paintings) and potentially alot of handpainting going on in there to acheive that style http://www.gamersyde.com/hqstream_everspace_kickstarter_trailer-35318_en.html
Thanks Slipsius, haven't gotten the final word if they'll be in the final, but I can hope. I think they add something a bit more narrative and gritty to what would otherwise be a fully indulgent, slightly bland, fantasy set.
You're going to want to open up the jetpack burners' socket a lot wider if you want this robot to look like it could get vertical thrust. Nice design. I could see this as an enemy in a Final Fantasy game.
these are just concepts, to bend my head around made in sketchup. I still have mountains of stuff to model. The theme is mid evil ages, and semi industrial on the other side with a mine, floating ariships, sort of semi fantasy.
If they stayed the same we'd be paying $80-$100 a game. Just looking up some info, Final Fantasy IV had a team of 14 people, took a year to develop and launched in the US at $69.95 ($113.57 in current dollars).
I think that the blade is decently textured, although not accurate to the concept art. The bottom half is suffering though. I agree with the emissive maps. Would your name be from the Warhammer Fantasy universe? "Belakor the Dark Master" ? :D
Thank the heavens for Kickstarter! Now Obsidian finally doesn't have to deal with boring, run of the mill concepts like Alpha Protocol and Fallout that publishers dictate, but can fully unleash their creativity in something as creatively creative as a fantasy RPG.
There's no way to tell until it releases - but at what point does *yet another* MMO set in generi-fantasy hope to even make its money back in the current market? The art is pretty guys, but no reason to overlook other factors.
