I probably won't be getting a pass this year, but seeing as I live a couple blocks from the Mascone, I'll be skulking around, lurking IRL. Been a couple years since I've made it to a polycount meetup. Going to try and make this one!
The arc ending halfway through the column looks off to me. I guess it's done for gameplay purposes but maybe you can resolve that in a different way? Keep it up, your texturing work and the overall quality of everything in this thread is amazing :D
Alright, I tried calibrating my monitor to see if that was the issue, even going as far as trying different ICC profiles, but in the end, I still can't see much in your screens. The little I can see is looking nice though.
The arc (path of motion) in the soldier's hips needs to be looked at From the points between [hoisting the soldier up] -> [beginning to fall to the ground] Some linear movements here help to kill the inertia/force believability in the animation It's a challenging animation. Keep it up
IIRC, Ultramon has a "Save Icon Location" somewhere, but I haven't used it in ages, as I move to using a dock to hold all my icons, then moved to Win 7 - where I pin everything I use regularly to the taskbar.
Are you using IK for the walk and the run cycle, starting at 20 seconds? If you are, I would try to do another of each with FK arms, its much easier to get the nice swinging motions and arcs than trying to do it with IK.
Hey guys, might be a stupid question, but which version of Mental Mill are you using? I tried downloading the latest they have in the nVidia ARC forum but unfortunately that one gives me a trojan warning of my virus scanner (ESET's NOD32).
You need to give more details about your self and your skills. So we know where you stand right now. Any how, go Google Joan of Arc Maya/Max tutorial. It's free online and is good.
sold. * Maybe not; wtf is wrong with shipping to canada lately, the shipping costs are as much as the F'ing products. I'd be more irked if I was 2 hours away still, but I'm not so can't complain too badly, but seriously, shipping is 28 bucks.
You can score visa points, iirc specifically an H0, for being a globally reknowned artist. Placing highly in DW, CGTalk, CGHub contests would give you that credibility. Best of luck, I used to want the US deal too.
