well the most basic method which works good in most cases is to model it as simple polygons. Then apply a shell modifier (3ds max) or sth similar to give it thickness and then apply some subdivision (e.g. turbosmooth in max) to make it smooth and round the edges. The are more ways to do it of course ...
Thank you guys :) @jeremiah_bigley: maybe you're right, I think that I'll tweak a bit its color when I place it on the level and see how it works ingame. Just 2 new pictures: the shield for the Brain Boss, and the first asset for the 3th (and last) tileset, a battleship.
Great work! Really good to see some complete Sci-Fi environment work. The only thing that I wanted to mention was in the 4th image down, the floor/ground panels look quite bumpy/noisy and the specular/highlight makes it a little difficult to be sure what type of material it is.
Shotgun. From now on thou shall be known as Kingmaker. With Spoon invoked you can't call MC, so you get a shunt to Euston, and thus in doing so has opened the 4th lateral. Thus, according to Davies and Hynde, I call Mornington Crescent. New Game?
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] he has a team of ninja cyborg lions who stealthily alter our world to his bidding. [/ QUOTE ] That's the sort of god I can get behind! [/ QUOTE ] "And on the 8th day, God said, Let there be robotic ninja lions, and it was good." They left that part out
There's already an NY school teaching game design to 6th graders: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/19/magazine/19video-t.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=games%20school&st=cse Maybe in the future, SATs will be replaced by how well you do on a Wii game.
ElysiumGX > I get the same ring/pinky numbness every now and then too, just correcting my posture always does the trick. vermilion > The 8th entry on that urban dictionary page is an interesting take on the ritual. Somebody try it and let me know how it works out for you.
The point of the article was that you could have more leeway with your texture space or your vertices if it's othe other thing that's clogging up the engine. Means if you can model it at 100 polies but the bottleneck is fillrate you could perhaps go up to 200 without a drop in performance.
Carl Sagan explains the 4th dimension (if this man were still alive, I would have his babies) A good example of something that, logically, is likely to exist, though we can't even begin to imagine how or what it is [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9KT4M7kiSw[/ame]
Small update. I wanted to celebrate the moon landing 50th anniversary by creating this moon rover. You can find more shots here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xzrqd4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leZrkyfi8dg Its using a material with a set of different layers. This way its easy to create different themes.
