Yeah but surely metal slug, r-type and the like fit into the genre? I can only see it bringing more variety to the entries if any side-scroller type is allowed. -

You should give the ps3 R&C games a try. They're pretty damn awesome, and I think far better than current Mario games in overall experience. -

or install mame with some cool arcade games and have a lot of fun @ 2 players (r-type, street fighter2, LOADS of them !!!!) and most of them will run on your comp -

I can confirm that! Just hold W, E, or R and hold L-Click and it will bring up a menu where "Preserve UVs" is available. I will have to try this out! -
