the sterno-cleido-mastoid muscle in the neck has 2 lower heads that connect to the clavicle and the manibrum on the scapula. right now it looks like it dissapears into the rib cage. also in the back view it looks like the lat dosen't connect to the arm. other than that it looks amazing!
Sterno Mastoids arn't inserting correctly either. The other things that really bother me are the forearms and the lump on his wrist..not sure what that is. I also believe you either need to pull the knee up a bit or lengthen the shin/calf area. Nice practice though! Keep at it.
very cool busts, but on the female one, the sterno-mastoid muscle is off. it shouldnt curve like that when it meets the clavicle and then the sternum. the mandidible might be a tad too angular, i suggest rounding it a little to really keep it feminine but at the same time athletic. keep it up!
Before you even think about tendons (they're actually the sterno-cleido-mastoid muscles) you need to crack those anatomy books.....hard. Most important thing to do once you have the basics/tools/ui down, if you want to sculpt characters/creatures.
8FtSpider, thanks. I thought that was where I put the mastoid, maybe it is too small. The transition is too sharp like you say. Thanks for the tips. Two Listen, thanks, yeah perhaps. I like the lines they make that run along the muscles there, will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the advice.
Started working on the skull today. Didn't have a whole lot of time but I was able to get some forms down. The mandable is basically just placeholder and the zygomatic process is very wip in the rear (Haven't even started on the external acoustic meatus and mastoid process yet). I'll get some more in soon.
TThe sternocledoid mastoid and clavicles do not connect like that at the abse of the neck. You're missing the dutch angle either sides of the calves create when looking from Front. Forearm muscles do not insert into the upper arm/elbow the way you have it. Double check how those volumes insert into each other.
@Maph Some extremely nice shapes going on in that torso, very subtle yet powerful. Only thing which stands out to me is the clavicle area, it feels a little gaunt compared to the other form changes going on in the torso. Especially the indent area where the sterno mastoid inserts into the clavicle bone
Nice stuff Rota, but I think the sterno-mastoid (V shaped neck muscle) on both of the characters seems too thin, and on the thug too pronounced. the fingers on them also seem overly thin and bone-like. That symetrized noodle-vein on both hands of the war guy needs to go too.
Fun concept. Face needs anatomy help. Several smaller elements and bony landmarks have been missed. Color zone is monotonous across the skin. Lips don't curve around the face and indent at the sides. The eyes are oval. No sternocledoid mastoid defined. Do you have an evenly lit turn around of the head sculpt?
