First off, is that a render or a viewport grab in that first shot? Maya's software renderer treats normal maps as bump maps by default, with results similar to what I'm seeing there. If you want to view the normal map, set the viewport to "high quality" to see it in realtime.
Sounds familiar :p I'm hoping for the both of us experience will solve this issue over time. But it looks very good, interesting shapes with that GL too. I'm really looking forward to seeing this completely finished and presented in realtime (consider using my shader for it ;) )
Im guessing part 2 and 3 inst up yet? I think its kinda nice to have it on in the background so i dont mind having realtime videos, maybe speed it up to x3 when you are doing something really tedious.
I don't know the real actress similarity nor seen the show and character, but I wanted to say good friggin job on that hair dude. It's been a long time since I saw realtime hair like this and said out loud Damn haha.
thanks guys. i've just about got his skull done. i'll post a look tomorrow. if anybody's got any ideas on how they might approach texturing a beast whose pretty much in need of a realtime sss solution. let 'em fly .
Christ, that animation really sold me a few times, amazing! The bestest little touch is the eyes!!! How at certain movements he actually flicks a look at the camera and back again, kinda freaked me out. Im intrigued as to how "realtime" his rig is?
Couple of rigger/animators I know, especially when working on personal stuff would always help themselves too stock sets of whatever realtime assets from the UE store, for prototyping purposes and yeah those dudes are nuts...drink like fish O_o
Totally forgot to keep this updated, but finished up that warlock. More pics here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/A95635 Been trying my hand at some realtime hair too, it's something that's scared me for a while so it's been good to start getting more familiar with it.
I'd say go with a 4 core and get good cooling and overclocking or a better GPU instead, and you'll get better performance for cheaper, I kinda wish I didn't go with the 6 core now that I've been playing with a lot of realtime GI solutions.
no it is not safe to say that. lot of people have posted exact same issues with 6xx cards. as for mudbox, not sure how else i can clarify it but basically with a 6xx card you wont see any realtime shadows when you enable shadows of a light in mudbox.
