Hey thanks, yeah anatomy is somthing im working on really hard. so any help is good help. Also im going to clean up the body mesh this week and do some more clothing designs, i want to go for a urban soilder look. Like he is wearing urban hip clothing but he has like weapons and what nots, im trying to mix it up a little…
I'm not sold on all the tiny marks on his armor, I think that you can be more conservative with them and limit them to logical places (would he really take that many scracthes to his facearmor)? Or keep the marks and step up the damage in exposed areas. Those kneepads are just begging to be scracthed apart . The cloth…
Looking good. I like the detail you have going on in the chest and pants. Don't forget to paint the shadow the helmet would cast on the head. =) He also looks a little too "stuffed" or like someone blew him up like a balloon. Remember cloths hang off people they don't orbit them =P. Espeically soldiers out the field who…
After a long break I looked back to this project a couple of weeks ago, and started to tweak the anatomy even further. My new plan is going to develop her to be an own version of Lara Croft. So, I'd like to get my hands on clothing as soon as possible, because I've spent too much time around sculpting the anatomy. Now, I…
Figured it out (mostly), it was a combination of low-poly normals and normal baking. Here are some new images. I'm wondering if anyone can explain to me what a skin tone map does in marmoset. As far as I can understand it, it seperates the skin material from the phong material, so that clothing and hair doesn't take on the…
So, this one's still a long way off. I'm not sure if I want to stick with these facial expressions, but they'll do for now. In the mean time I need to give some love to the rest of the shot. Trouble is, I'm pretty good with faces, and I'm ok with clothes/armor when I have direct reference, but inventing clothing or armor…
Everything i found indicates that split edge is the Blender equivalent for smoothing groups on Max. That puzzles me. Are you sure smoothing groups don't also augment the vertex count when in the engine? I'll take another look. @Mohsen & Heboltz3 I'm really struggling at making it look like actual clothes. My attemps so far…
@future-fiction Thanks so much! The cloth for the skirt is just sculpted normally, then with a noisemaker with a cloth texture applied to get the details. The frayed strands on the skirt were made with fibermesh which was then converted to geo. And the top was mainly made following this tutorial @musashidan Thanks man, I…
Looks pretty sweet. My crits:- - You should darken the diffuse. And make him pop more with a tighter specular map. - His clavicle is sitting at quite a distance from the end of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. You should put the clavicle up. - I also think you should reduce the size of his head a little. - Oh, being…
Thanks for putting up that example, Brian! She won't wear a dress again, but I think of her wearing some underwear maybe. Or she stays naked..I still need to decide. I agree with using both, Polypaint and Photoshop. When I textured her for the schoolproject, I also used both ways. Starting with the polypainting and then…
