For me the main reasons to go with CryEngine every day: * Realtime Lighting Feedback * Trackview and its Tangent handling is much nicer and more intuitive to a Maya/Max User than Matinee * Very clean rendering and great shaders (that said, if you don't write HLSL you will have a hard time creating custom shaders (which…
yeah man, we recently got fibre in our new house... we were told to expect almost 40Mb/s, but are actually receiving half of that. the reason is that there is a 10 meter stretch of cable about 200 meters from the cabinet, and 90 meters from the house (so we know exactly where it is, actually) that is aluminium not copper.…
Thanks Rens, woot, roepatoepa and amsterdam. Under each image I'v added a link to that image on a solid background. Anyway, I think I'm almost done with this, I'll probably end up spending an hour or 2 tomorrow to maybe clean things up a bit and do some things I maybe forgot. So feedback is appreciated, but unless it's…
Gawd, it's been forever since I animated with Biped. So you're going to want someone else here to chime in with more info. But you should look into Out Of Range types for looping. They do exactly what's in the screenshot there, extend the animation beyond the keys.…
Figured we needed a more informational break down of hosts. I'm doing their cheapest plan and their 25 GB bandwidth plans. If you want to update the orginal post with this and ask people to reply with this format, it'd be awesome. ZacD: http://holeinthewallhosting.com/ Hole in the Wall Hosting - Uptime: 99.94% - Lowest…
Are the talks in the Main Conference, $995, or Summits & Tutorials, $795? I've thought about going it but that's a lot of money, especially factoring in travel and lodging.
I can't believe nobody commented on this! I love the style you have chosen for him (very dota2-ish). As for the textures, I would take a look at the Diablo III inspired Barbarian Girl that came by polycount a few weeks back. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99126 I think those kind of textures would fit your…
You know one thing I really do like: random loot drops or finds are almost always specifically for your level. You can go to the starting missions and one-shot a ton of lvl 2 enemies, and the loot they drop will still be matched to your level. What a difference with Borderlands where 99.5% of the stuff you get is junk.
Thanks for all the great posts everyone! I've spent most of today looking up computer parts and sales in Melbourne. My original budget was based on what friends of mine who bought custom, store-built machines payed but it looks like I'm not going to need to spend that much if i build it myself (with help from my more…
