In my experience you choose whichever application you can for that particular situation. I've had situations where xNormal clearly produced a better normal map than in Maya (I'm a Maya person) and also faster. While in my recent project xNormal do not produce the same quality normal maps as Maya. I believe it all depends…
@Enexus : Thanks man. So, the execution being the most important point for the judgement, I'd like to keep it as optimised as possible and only keep the visible faces. Based on that, it's also important to show the best of every props in the scene - some of them are really skewed with the perspective on my actual concept…
Badass! I would make his face a little more "piratey", maybe the flames could form a beard and a pirate hat could be floating above his head. And rough up the suit a bit, he looks like he just got a finely tailored suit from the cleaners, rather than being an undead scourge of the seas! Just a few crits, otherwise I always…
I guess everybody missed the names of the 3 downed agents. "Whitman, Price & Holiday" which is just another homage from The Running Man. "Whitman, Price & Hadad...last seasons Winners" "No...Last seasons...losers!" Yeah the Sylar teleporting power was a little surprising. As for any powers he picked up in the first season,…
just great man, heaps of character, that 3/4 angled shot is definately the winner for this guy! I think maybe you could have pulled the shoulders closer together - more like the really excellent shape your concept shows. Kind of small head, gradually increasing in size down to waist where the mass peaks and slimming down…
Yeah I'll try to figure something out with that tempo (I prefer doing something that could be in the game), I added the classic sparkles going out and it helps a little ^^. If I see at the end that I really need to take the gameplay part away I will :p Yeah I didn't look the winners in 2014, just looked at them I'll need…
Oh...Missed the Unity part. Soz. I know nothing about Unity TBH I think Vig's idea of two bones for the back and door sounds like a winner. Depends how much detail you want to get into the animation of the wires. This way will be great for just stretching the wires out but they won't swing or dangle really. Having said…
Small team of Inter-Dec graduates in Montreal, Quebec, are currently looking for someone to rig 5 humanoid characters to be used in a portfolio project. In the event that the project would go beyond portfolio or tech demo, the person would be welcomed to participate in the complete project.
Most Artists (me included) dont care about the dark magic. We hit bake and if it does look right we are fine. We know how to use the dark magic but we dont need to understand the interals.
in before Bellsey with "Autodesk have had inter-program switching for a few years now". sure, "switch to *" is okay in Autodesk software, but this is fucking crazy awesome. my next project will be learning Modo so i can leave max in the dust.
