I think the pattern on the axe head is a little boring, maybe fancy it up a bit. The leather wraps look pretty clean, some wear and tear would improve the look. Otherwise its looking good! I really like the texture of the wood.
Hang on. Whaaaat? I cannot for the life of me model in orthographic view, unless I'm working on mechanical stuff, using blueprints for example. But for anything organic, there is no way I can wrap my head around modelling in ortho. It hurts my brain.
Looking pretty good. My only issue is the weird look of the black bricks. It just looks... wrong. Even if it's a perfect recreation of a photo reference it still doesn't look...right. Best way I can put it is that it look like it's wrapped in plastic.
Prop Artist is usually the same as Environment Artist. Though the bigger the studio, the more specialized the roles become. So you could have a Weapons Artist, a Vehicle Artist, etc. Which in a smaller studio, are all wrapped into one Environment Artist's job.
What lacks in this community is the ability to actually look up things they want to know. I did some simple wraps here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=173155729#135550 Just look through the pictures and videos, you'll get the picture.
Muuuch better. I wouldn't mind seeing more cloth or organic materials incorporated. Like having only one shoulder pad and maybe some exposed skin or wrapping. I dunno, just spitballing! Asymmetry in the armor would be nice though...
So it's been quite slow up till now cause I've been having a ton of issues with Maya. Hopefully things will wrap up pretty soon now that I'm done with the Maya parts. Top images are a test bake in substance painter.
We're working on it and trying to wrap our heads around what the best way to do this is. This is something that the Marmoset as well as Sketchfab folks have asked for. Unfortunately we also have a ton of other higher priority items that we have to get to. Leo
Nice one, monster! Forgot about Skin Wrap and Convert to Skin (face palm). I tested it and I just had to adjust the Mirror Offset and Threshold settings a little and it works great. It should do what you need V Man.
Trying to wrap this up before the deadline! Made some tweaks to the model and simplified some of the textures. I think I was getting getting too much noise and away from the Riot style. Hopefully some more texture work and posing tomorrow!!
