It's a bi-monthly challenge (used to be monthly but has been expanded to give more people the chance to partecipate, especially those with little free time). The months are specified in the thread title. This is November-December. Sometimes people finish and post it even after the end of the two months, so don't worry,…
Feathers or not- you gotta the default pose looking right. Currently he looks like he`s falling back. If you dont get that more natural and relaxed looking, your going to be fighting that every step of the way when you get to the rigging/animation stage. Take some time to rock dem transpose tools and get him looking more…
usually when at home it sits in a different room so if it does go off i wouldn't notice till a hour or so later, and thats the way i like it, since i dont want to see like im always available to people when im at home relaxing, and when with my gf, both of us do the same and just completely ignore them.
flatten mapping tends to create a lot of unecessary UV islands. It also assumes that curved surfaces are planar which causes these unecessary splits. I have seen people get a decent result from using flatten mapping and then stitching pieces back together. However that's the slow way to do it in my opinion. I prefer unfold…
Yeah - making hollowed out model is actually way easier than what people think - especially if your source is a watertight Zbrush model. That's about it really. Just duplicate your object, scale it down along its normals, relax it a few times, maybe trim out bits that are not necessary and dynamesh to whatever resolution…
Working on a Environment project for portfolio. This is a garage Tailor Shop (In UE4). Im working on the bigger props for now and trying to figure out a good layout / composition for the objects. I've choosen a warm palette with brown tones mostly, because I want it to feel a relaxing and peaceful place. I really would…
I agree with your sentiment that sometimes working with dynamic and heavy shaders can be relaxing XD. You said you're not quite happy with the trees, make more gaps in your leaf cards for light to pass through, by either adjusting the texture or your leaf size/amount you propagate. I made a quick paintover to show the…
Thanks, Francois! I'm showing this in class tomorrow, so it's nice having a second set of eyes to point out the errors. I think I may have to drop the elbow a slight bit to give a bit more of a relaxed bend to the arm, and question some of the muscle placements in the forearm. The transition from forearm to upper arm in…
I think it has more to do with personal pressure. The desire to do and the ability to do. That doing it involves plenty of failures, and the fear that you are a failure at the thing which you want to do. edit: Pretty much exactly what she said. Good talk. Not so sure about the seperate entity thing, I take it to more mean…
nice texture work, I would push the contrast in the spec a bit more get some worn areas looking like the paints been rubbed off or something. Other than that, the hand looks weird, maybe just cause its so straight, a more relaxed pose for it might help it look more natural. these are pretty small things though, overall…
