That dialogue doesn't appear when I right click > reimport on the prop. I deleted it again and dragged in the file so this dialogue would appear. I didn't have that tick box enabled before but I do now. Hopefully it keeps that option checked now, even for reimports. Thanks either way! -

Are you talking about PSD transparency ? or PNG ? You just have to enable "Show Realistic Material in the Viewport" for that material. ( the blue checker box button ) For PNG you have to disable "Premultiplied Alpha" in the map'S bitmap parameters For the PSD you have to pick the individual Layer in File load'S setup dialog -

I don't have the game installed, so I can't double check, but I think Bethesda stored parallax in the alpha channel of the diffuse map when the shader had parallax enabled. (or maybe they used the _p suffix?) You might be interested in giving NifSkope a whirl to take a look at the model files. -

Haftoof: Ty , yeah I am way more familiarised with 3dmax than zbrush , so my workflow is 3dmax for blocking out ( polymodeling , shell modifier , turbosmooth with smooting groups enabled ) and get a good shillouete , then sculpting out details . There is no bad tehnique , just what suits u better :) Gl -

Instances are still mesh items, so they still have their own pivot and center. I believe you are looking for Replicators, not mesh instances. Keep in mind you'll need to enable replicator drawing under Viewport settings ("o" key), drawing and control tab to see more than just their bounding box. -

I tend to work in all the views, including and pretty often the orthographic ones, but if I wanted to work in perspective all the time, I would enable the View Cube, cause, doesn't it stay in perspective and only switch if you go literally to the T,L,F views? If it kills the perspective, sorry :P -

Yep. Load the Wing comander Jilrathi example ( the spaceship ). Sure the "Show stars" option is enabled inside the 3D viewer. Move the camera back until all is more or less "small". Notice the stars and nebulas are just additively-blended billboards distributed along a big sphere covering the complete world's bounds. -

are they all using the same material? Double check this one. If the image isn't showing in the texture editor but the UV's are, then the material assigned to that object does not have a texture assigned to it's color channel. To see the textures on your model in the view port be sure to have hardware texturing enabled. Its… -
