Not sure what schools don't require experience to teach at, but that sounds pretty stupid to me. AT my school all teachers must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience. And we don't have teachers teaching what they don't know, for the most part. WE have animators teaching animation, environment artists teaching… -

Really depends, are you familiar with compositing? If so, go for it! Always good to have an increasingly diverse set of skills in your repertoire. -

I agree with THermidor, the games industry benefits more from diversity, not big publishers grabbing up everything they can get their hands on.
