I am thinking of trying the source filmmaker since its now available.but I am a little confused of how to go about it.I have never been an online gamer that much so from what I gathered are: -u need to have a steam account to download SFM -u need to install steam Do u need to download a valve game like team fortress to use…
Made this asset while taking a break from my last character. It turned out to be a bit more work than expected. More images and stuff on Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3dNv22 All baked, textured and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag. The whole process was streamed as usual on…
Gabe from Penny-Arcade has been using the Surface Pro recently, obviously for 2D work, and he's been loving it. I've been hearing a lot of bad things about the Surface Pro, but then that's mainly from the main-stream tech sites, and they're maybe not looking at it in the same way game devs would be.

One of the reasons why more sub mats were needed is because we were limited to 512 textures due to texture streaming on consoles. I was aming for a texel ratio ~200px per meter for the buildings which means you need more tiles and you can't just put everything on one map.

What is a huge part of the solution? Digital downloads/ electronic distribution. More money going to developers, less to the retail space who then resells them for huge profits. Entice your customers into this option by reducing the price of the downloaded version significantly, and offering small extras, thus securing…
i dunno, i'm good with hanging out in the irc chat all day. plenty of people around, lots of talking about various stuff, and i can still listen to music :P but i see how screen live streaming could be useful when you need specific help/crits on a project
It's not quite out yet, but DropBox will be my ideal program once its released. http://www.getdropbox.com/ I already use MS's FolderShare between work and home, but this looks to be even more streamed AND has revision control. The difference with this, compared to FolderShare, BESIDES the amount of features it has is that…
