triple post hehehe :) tidied up the armour....probably looks the same but hey... Also ran a quick test to see what it will look like once in realtime....the normals are rough and the spec is rushed but it gets the idea across ta for looking and all that
Nitrous for HP modeling, DirectX if you're wanting to view realtime shaders. It seems bullshit, since Nitrous is supposedly DirectX. They should make shaders compatible with that viewport driver, so I don't have to keep switching between modeling/texturing >_<
lookin sick. i like the sunlight coming in. how bout angling the light a bit so that it goes into the room a bit more? i think the darks in the corners are a bit too dark. i dont know if thats the realtime AO or what.
Boon Cotter talks all about it in this video in depth. Lotsa baked stuff in uncharted/last of us with a combo of realtime sun lights etc. goldmine of info in this video specifically for that scene above too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avKlUcx3TlE
Also don't forget what you're rendering it in. If it's for a games engine, get it into one and render it there. Maya/Max/Blender aren't far off how UDK or CE3 look if you set them up carefully but it will look different in a realtime environment.
I pretty much think the gun blur is just a blurred texture mask, like suggested before. the scene itself gets a realtime DOF effect, using depth for blur strength. The inconsistency of the "hand", as vassago said, supports his theory.
LOL. I said the same thing when I first tried it. Was rather disappointed that it wasn't 1st or 3rd person realtime control on it. It's still annoying I suppose, but you do control it indirectly still (double click here/there, etc).
Cheap, are'nt you on a 233 mmx system? of course it's going to be slow. Zbrush is 200 bucks, and does all of this in realtime, and using the applink plugin you can edit the flat maps in PS extremely fast back and forth yada yada.
Thanks dudes. It's not really for a game specifically. The ones it would be suited for are console only or don't have modding tools, like most games these days unfortunately. So it's more like another step in my journey to create awesome realtime art.
i just think they had to release some images when they wernt ready to (any gueses if it was on publishers demand) if you watch the trailer, they only show a tiny bit of fast cut realtime at the end, so thyre obviously not too proud.
