you can also bring in the obj from max, and use "transfer attributes" to copy the 2nd uv map to a new map on the other mesh.

Nope, I am using Maya. I also tried to export this as obj and import once again in maya and then export it, bugs still occur

If is does, don't try to use OBJ since some programs don't export VC into it (looking at you Max). FBX always does tho.

Have you tried deleting this edge and leaving it as a 5-sided? would be easier to help if we had an obj of just this one small section.

Thank you guy! I had to go with Computron's solution and export as obj. I wish I knew what happened to cause the issue...

Yep, that sounds about right. Also, try Knald for low AO (load a flat 127,127,255 blue normal map and your lowpoly obj).

If you want to use that .obj not only 3DO (xnormal or other modeling/baking software) I recommend to switch off all Optimize section.

By default, polygroups will be split into different OBJ meshes when exporting. To bypass this without merging polygroups, go to Tool: Export and toggle the Grp button.

No I used100% ...when I exportto obj with polypaint and bake with xnormal I get only a colored piece lacking any texture detail....

You can export crease data with Maya GoZ. I prefer OBJ because it's really straightforward, universal, and doesn't have weird issues.
