Decided to post my current WIP in UE4. I want to make it into a horror game but being that it's my first project, I don't want to get too ambitious. As of right now I'm doing all the art and when the time comes I'll need someone with programming experience. If all else fails, I'm going to make it into a portfolio peice.…
Hey man, they look ok, but proportionwise something seems to be slightly off always? Like angle of the roof too large, or not wide enough at the top, rearlights slightly too big.. I'd check again with ref and blueprints, you only seem to hit like 75-85% accuracy while you should be able to do 95% with these tricounts.…
Worked on the scene a lot today and learned new stuff so I'm happy to share my progress again :) I modeled and textured a tree for the first time (really happy with the result thanks to this tree tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7L8TJ08vslc ) and did the floor material in Substance Designer. I struggled a lot with…
Were you applying for a layout artist or set dresser? The criteria is kind of odd to me otherwise. However the mood is great in this. It's very calming and everything fits nicely. I do agree with Alex that there is a time period disparity between some of the assets but seeing that the criteria was to not make your own…
Ooh, you got dissed by a bot. The ultimate insult. The first image is pretty confusing. Not quite sure what you're going for there. The scene has quite a good atmosphere and the layout shown in the second image works well. Your texturing seems like the weakest point - you've got fairly obvious UV stretching on all of your…
Okay, here's some progress. This is my first time unwrapping something of this size, and also my first time putting something in-engine. Also my first time fully texturing something. WHEeeeeee Here's a WIP. The textures are off a bit, specifically in the bottom of the roof and the railing at the top (which you can't really…
Hello everybody ! First of all, it's great to see your work, on all challenges. I'm going on the Hand-painted house, if i can afford to finish it :) . Started yesterday for about 2-3h, bit late but heh.. Here's where i am for now after a morning trying to find measurements. (lunch break ! :) ) : I don't know for you all,…
@AimBiZ: thanks for the feedback! I agree with you and I toned down the contrast in those textures. It looks better now, but I forgot to take some screenshots >_> Will post the changes with the next update. @esPhys ah that makes sense, thanks for the info! I ended up not using that texture for the buildings, but I'll…
ya Killing, that is outta sight! Man you spent some time letting me know...I cant believe the amount of effort from everyone, this rox. Ive screen-shoted that for constant, repeated reference. You definitely body-slammed me on the eave work, I knew in the back of my mind while I was running through all the great…
Reich made a great point. Always start with reference. Hell I use and update reference all the way throughout the project. It does not necessarily have to look exactly like the reference. It does help though to understand how an object would be built, logically in real life. This will then help you understand the structure…
