@Ashervisalis not nit picky at all, thanks for the feedback, I agree a ton, at first I thought it was the angle, but I'm definitely going to resize the front log section and the axe in particular, also I think the angle of the slope is a bit off too!
Yeah, we need concepts at the top of each thread. Wouldn't worry about the color coding at this point, it's only at the modeling stage. Looks clean. The back rounded areas are a bit higher-poly for quad density, but that's just an early nit-pick.
Thanks mates, and I do agree with casting a wider net. It doesn't make sense to compete with thousands of other applicants for one single position and you bet the house on getting it. But it doesn't absolve the artist from doing the footwork and making connections.
and as requested this is a vannila server, and there should be too much over building going on... M.. when the mods get there stuff updated i will be making a multiverse server again and the vannila folks can be vannila and M can go nuts :D cheers
I kind of figured that RAM was the issue but with all the different answers I was finding through searching the net, I'd like to know for sure what has to be done. I'll buy some updated RAM tomorrow and see how that plays out.
New Update http://www.digitalfossils.com/Download/NVil-Jan-31-14.rar Prerequisites : A need to download/install end user runtime(for slimDX) http://slimdx.org/download.php (the .net 2 download) Summary of changes: * Some bug fixings. Thanks!
Cringe. CRINGE. As much as I hate saying it, design is what matters in the end for these games, not pretty art. I can't play with pretty art, it's secondary ingredients to an interactive experience. It's perfectly plausible to have a game that's simple to look at that is fun as nuts.
That video is nuts. In six minutes you go from being able to walk and drive in a clear street, to seeing an entire building floating down the road. Takes some courage to be standing where they were standing, from my point of view.
They don't create permanent growth and are a net drain on tax revenue. Government is eventually forced to reduce it to a break-even level and the companies move on to the next government. There are other reasons for subsidies, such as preservation of Quebecois culture, but videogames are way too low-brow for that.
Looks great but the stone pathway is looking a bit flat compared to other pathway and ground textures. It's mostly noticeable on the last image where the modeled stone slabs break off into the flat stone texture. That may be a bit nit-picky though. :)
