On the left hand side you have all of your rotations selected which probably has something to do with it. Deselect Z and Y over there and see if that helps. -

Actually the Z-sorting issues only happen when you try to stack transparencies - in any event it looks fine all in ben's shader. Here's a screencap: -

I would imagine you'd need a separate object with its own material in Unity as well for proper rendering of z-depth. -

If you export something from maya to z and back it does have the same size as before. I see no issue in that workflow. -

Just scale it down afterwards. ScaleX,Y, Z will be a different value, but the Height, Width, Depth will retain the values you inputted. -

WOW! Thanks throttlekitty! Began to study. Simply remap !z::MButton - works perfect. The case with RButton looks a more complicated.
