Im new to unwrapping and was looking for advice on how i could unwrap this in 3dsmax. Not the basics but general theory on were to cut the seams and to use cylindrical or planar, ect in 3DSMAX 9. I tried using UVLayout but it seems more suited to organix meshes. Thanks! -Buddikaman-
Have started detaching and making the high-poly in 3Dsmax. Will work out the kinks and add surface detail in zbrush afterwards. Still have to make a lot of the detail in 3DsMax, redo the hands, etc etc etc.
Can anyone explain the difference between Self-Illumination and Ambient for me? In 3dsMax's default material settings there are slots for Self-Illumination and Ambient textures (and a global Ambient value). Is there a conceptual difference between the two or is it just what 3dsMax chose to call them?
Hi everyone, I've got a strange bug with the Quixel color script inside 3dsmax. It launch correctly but I can't see any materials. I tried to reinstall Quixel and it doesn't change anything. I'm using 3dsmax 2016 - Student Version. Thanks, Julien

UH??? 3dsmax start to be more broken than Maya XDDD... On 3dsmax 5.0 it was in the Edit UVWS windows, ---> Menu Options ---> Preferences ---> Line Color.... Probably a bug, it seems to not affect the color in the 2010SP1 version... :D :D
Nice to see that there's much love for environment scene on 3dsmax. Been searching for this, thank you very much for sharing. 3dsmax 2012 had more crash than 2011 when opening your scene.
XRefs in 3dsmax are buggy, unstable, and generally unusable for most things. I would tend to avoid them. It's a shame really, a good referencing system is really handy, and it's something which 3dsmax kinda lacks.
Yeah; I'd also like to know how this topic progresses! @renderhjs If you can embed flash sliders in 3dsmax now, could you make interfaces based on flash for controlling modifiers in 3dsmax. For example thumbnails for morphtargets?
