Really happy to hear your opinions guys ^^ @cagdasx44: yeah it would be a waste but i cant really think of any way to fit it in the walking mode yet :( PS: i'm starting to think that my courier will not gonna makes it to the surface, please Gandalf, show up and do your magic :(
Wow, I was not expecting such a clean and accurate result from that. I was sitting there watching him lay down all those lines then waiting for him to hit the magic button, not expecting much. When he did hit it and that mesh popped out I audibly went, "whaaaaaat." Pretty awesome.:)
Magical! I can't wait to see this, especially given how delightfully playful and wondrous your other work in your showreels has been... Do you mind if I ask, how many people do you have in your team? They must all be super-talented, that's for sure!
You should have the stupid debate over at Kotaku comments. People were literally struggling to understand what a Texture 'channel' was and were debating why more developers don't use 'channels' of you can get all these effects on them. Some of them even called it voodoo magic...
me2 really like softimage personally, m button means Magic,:3 but 3ds max has some advantage too, material ID, and smoothing group management is huge advantage in 3dsmax. to learn new software I keep hotkey and button customization to minimum or none ( default setting).
Alright, small update. I did a blockout for base. I sort of mixed the original design with a few of the newer ones that I liked. Other than that I just have a few more things to blockout before I take this thing into nDo to work some magic. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
omg. I can't bealive what my eyes saw in the video. You watch the video and think, well just another boring level. But then you see the magic of your work. Man this is great. Like the props too. Keep on the good work. Can't wait to see the final level.
As a lurker I totally agree that the most amazing pieces sometimes seem to be done with some ancient arcane magic that nobody has a clue about. But to praise Polycount, here is where this doesn't happen so much or at least there is so much good threads and WIPs with great amount of info and feedback.
waiting to be "inspired" its a flaw, its an illusion Artists do not just wait for that magical sensation to kick in. They just do it. Just like Nike says. Grab that pencil and just draw anything! Do some life drawing classes! Go to a church and study architecture! Travel! See the world!
They terk our JERBS!!! :poly115: Hasn't seemed to dampen the need for artists in film... Should also add scanning is not a magical 'press button and mesh appears' procedure, its actually quite time consuming and challenging to clean up a scan mesh well. ...some would say it takes an artist.
