surface pro has gotten some pretty nice reviews for its drawing interface, has a high resolution screen for its size. The asus transformer book also seems pretty decent, longer battery, smaller HD and lower res screen.
First screenshots of the scene The most of the work at the moment is on the modeling, texturing, and lighting. I blocked out the meshes i needed the most for the scene (Woodbeams, tables, screens...) and i tried to get familiar with UE4 interface since it's my first personal project.
Curious to your reasons why you feel it's not there yet? I have barely used either, so i really have no clue. All I know mari's interface and philosophy look a lot more complex and potentially cumbersome than painter.
From the docs: Will try and see if i can get something to work. Havent used controllers much though thats probably my lack of indepth max knowledge. Also +1 to dark interface. Had to change some stuff around but love it.
Hi Resistant, I have just uploaded a new version of XformUV (2.8). This version fixes some GUI problems with the QT interface of Maya 2011-2013. You can download it here: Creative Crash or here: sdv_xformUV_v2.8.zip Cheers, Stefan
First time using substance painter seems legit, interface is a little glitchy for me but after adjusting the settings managed to reach a smooth middle ground, having a play with stock textures for now but will eventually have to make my own in the substance designer.
The interface is nice, I like it better with a cintiq or highly sensitive tablet than photoshop, it is more intuitive and flows pretty nice. Very easy to use also. I do wish it had more features, but it still makes and keeps sketching fun.
I would use it as a portfolio piece but as you sites interface, no way. All you need is something that gets your visitors directly to your assets and is dynamic enough to accommodate different browsers and window sizes. Nice technical work though. Cheers
Maya tools, derived from Max? Easy. 1.) A New Materials Editor, or new interface. 2.) The ability to use geometry as bones, that DON'T export. 3.) Target Weld. 4.) The ability to retain selections, or transfer selections between subobjects. Scott
Yeah, it might be a problem with the PSU for the unit, or possibly the USB interface of the drive itself. If everything else fails, you can buy another external encolsure for the drive. Crack yours open and remove the hdd. Then place it inside the new enclosure. See if that helps.
