I agree with the last two. However I also see the value in dissecting software to learn how it works. It's a fairly common practice. A great way to learn. The trouble only comes when sharing what you've done. If you keep it internal only, no biggie. As far as art goes, reverse engineering to make an asset viewer or…
woah hey there everyone, long time no post in here it seems. Just started freshman year of high school and I'm still adjusting to the new workload. It's been nearly impossible to find time for arting with schoolwork and cross country. But anyways, to come back to it, I've decided to model the amp that ive owned for like 7…

Well, I'm not talking about going into excruciating detail, just the practices of following standards. Just following good markup practices is all the SEO you need to bother with. All I'm talking about is good structure. Just for reference, has anyone noticed who shows up on the first page of results when you Google…
@cgartland and @retleks Thanks to both of you for the feedback! I agree with you about the fact that I'm probably not yet ready to tackle the female anatomy. My adjusted plan is to study the male anatomy and try to nail the muscles and proportions there first before attempting the female forms again. I agree with retleks…
Haha Lotet, yep they are quite uncivilized. ^^ I remember I always picked Gangrel or Brujah in VTM Bloodlines... I guess subtility does not suit me. xD Finally, I thought it could be fun to make a Dark Ages' Gangrel. I was inspired by 14/15 century's armors and The Witcher. The plan is to have a badass and practical armor…
Wow, reading this thread is like the time I got really into season 4 of lost and my friend came in and said, "yeah... time travel... it's stupid" i'm like, "wtf?!" Talk about your buzz kills. But seriously, Vonklaus will know better than to try to share something cool with Polycount again :) ... lol. Maybe 2 responses…
A great idea to use the human form as a base for a character. For the work to make visual sense its good to study the form. For that you can practice using an app like DAZ3D as reference.
Hi I am kinda new here, my first post was the beast contest....I cant even finish that piece From that time I start thinking that my visual library are so weak that I cant even get a proper concept and idea from my mind So I continue sculpting more and hoping that I can get some improvement And here it is after some time…
To all 2d artists looking for practice out there, i'm a somewhat okay 3d modeler and sculpter but I can't draw to save my life. I greatly rely on character modeling reference sheets like this one: http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/245/8/6/character_sheet_for_sword_girl_by_mika_chai-d5dac5p.jpg to do my work. So, if…
