This is looking amazing! I my jaw dropped when I saw how good the hippo looked with the painted texture. I think it would be interesting to have their poses be less symmetric, though, as they look a bit stiff. But seriously, amazing work. It really has that magical discworld feel.
sheathed weapons sticking to the player as if by some magical unseen force rather than actually going into a sheath. As far as the "floating objects when you pick them up" problem, don't most FPS games render the fps view gun/hands at a different FOV than the world?
Substance does indeed shine in a large company scenario, but even if I was working freelance with the right self made tools I could dramatically decrease my time. What substance is awesome at is that it is a tool for making more tools if you really start to work the true magic of substance.
@Muzz that's the last modification I had planned. The idea was a rigger take the model, make his magic and a good animator could play with the astronaut. I'm very happy with the result and especially with the topology. Thanx everyone for the feedback. You supported me a lot and make me improve THANKS ^^
Interesting, does it somehow warp the landscape up? What would it look like if you put a checkered material on the landscape? I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to do something similar. I've been using BattleFront as a reference, which I'm pretty sure has some sort of magic in it.
create a plane move it slightly inwars and start to cut in those shapes... move cut move again... create a sphere move it in place.. reverse the normals... cut the cube shapes in... delete the rest... on some areas use topo tools... everything is allowed... just do it... there is no magic trick...
Around the Technical details, you will see that the 24 packs a more of a punch in terms of ergonomic display (doesn't have the giraffe neck thing going on), has several extra connection hubs and is heavier + needs more energy. So I'm guessing it's performing more magic then the other one.
I realised about the local subdivision, just wondered if there was some magic apart for the polypaint option let you zremesh locally. for a example whole human body does not zremesh very well for me. got to do some more tests though as I enjoy researching these things
It's Mrs. Puss, the magical wonder-kitty! :P Looking good! Maybe get in there and add some more detail around the nose and eyes... inside the ear.. What about giving it a snaggle tooth? The claws seem a little too cylindrical at the base. what about claws on the fingers as well?
this is something else- its a radial component environment, absolutely melted my brain getting the stair case to work mathematically, but got it, kind of thinking of a fishy themed tower/temple which is half ruined, thinking of the possibility of a fish shaped magical submarine at the bottom half submerged in the water
