I am using a mouse. I have tried wired and wireless, and the problem still persists. I will try disabling the pen/touch settings and see if that fixes anything. In the open source area is: Gimp has under: Filters -> Generic -> Normal Map.. with some "simple" settings. Krita has under: Filter -> Edge Detection -> Height to Normal Map.. with "some more" options. It's nice-ish. It creates a rig that works specifically with HumanIK which is Motion Builder (lite) stuffed into Maya. I like HumanIK / MB for retargeting from one rig to another, recording and cleaning up mocap as well as blending animations together, or if you need one rig to drive another one, like a character picking… -

TGA is uncompressed: It's like a flattened PSD, you can count on every pixel bieng where you placed it when you open it up. If you're going to be importing and compressing the textures later for use in an engine considering they normally have their own compression method. You probably do not want to compress already… -
