Not really. Loading the OBJ is the easiest way. Practically you can also just combine and merge vertices. And don't forget to delete history. -

The Max file you've uploaded is corrupted(or my download corrupted) What size is the file? Also, merging the assets to a fresh scene failed. -

yepp, this is the final result. if its more than that one set, delete the other sets (merge them into the correct one if they contain changes). -
