If you can't find work for yourself, you won't find work for a studio. Build constant stream of projects first. Build client base. Build you credentials. Only when you will be overwhelmed with work, start thinking about making a studio. Just my .50
For recording: Debut Video Capture Software (Free) http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/ For live streaming: Open Broadcasting Software ("OBS") also free https://obsproject.com/ That should just about cover it. OBS can do both too if you don't want to use another program.
they leaves could be smaller, IMO. I don't think the giant round rocks are working very well for the ground. But the scene is really starting to come together, I like the misty look of the water, but there could be some denser streams going on too. Keep up the great work.
This is great, keep going! One thing that might help it "pop" would be to add some off-screen lights coming from the left and right sides. Maybe there's an "open door" on one of the near culled walls, with warm light streaming in. Or maybe another window.
I've only gotten positive responses from Polycount for the most part when linking finished items I think. Reddit pretty much always has lead me to a stream of 10-30 downvotes instantly unless it's a set with full promo art.
Texture atlasing in udk is only useful for procbuildings. Udk treats each section as a single drawcall and does not batch objects into drawcalls by shader. There is no speed increase or memory advantage to doing this. In some cases atlasing like this can confuse the streaming algorithm and cause issues.
Thanks a TON you guys! so glad you like the courier idea I'm thinking about doing it this weekend and streaming the process and doing it fulltime but I'm trying to figure out whether to do that or finish my shadow demon set. Speaking of which!
We've got our stream up (G+ hangout)! Pop in and say hello. https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/event/cohbipe43hpdodmkt49hk33v8v4?authuser=0&hl=en How's everything going so far. Strange theme... we've got an interesting adventure game idea :)
that's looking fantastic, great job. Some dusty light streaming through those windows would be nice! Only minor nitpick is that I think it would benefit from having lighter coloured stone, something more sandy coloured (just my opinion)
LOL. This should have been a news post on April 1st :D Hazardous, I was working with your stream open and had to explain to my dad the difference between art and porn. It took me a while to realise he was just winding me up...
