In addition to what eld mentioned, make sure you don't have "Power Saver" mode turned on, or whatever the hell it's called, in the 3DS settings. That will wash out the colors. Concerning the 3D effect, I'm not really sure what you were expecting. It's what we've been shown and told to expect since that first video came out…
@Jhburton : Thanks! Super nervous thinking none would comment. ^^ @waf : I scaled up the island a bit and I'm not sure if I like it or not. It kind of ruins the cutsie-look but it solves my space problems and actually makes it somewhat playable. ^^ I'd like to add some kind of air transportation which got you to the island…
So it has taken a bit of a turn since the first concept I've posted.. Tried a couple solutions to the back/wings and this is my favorite of them for a possible chinese myth-creature backside. Going to keep all the fins koi-like and give him a sort of mane as there are a lot of mythological creatures with this sort of…
@Joseph Silverman: Hey thanks for the vote of confidence! Here's the latest rev. I pushed some of the shapes a bit further, reoriented the elbows, added the collar lock, oxygen tanks, and a head. That head is just terrible though, I'm not sure my art style for faces really lends itself to dimension. I'm actually inclined…
I think it's all personal choice, really. If a person would rather sit on their PC and work or play games than to go to a bar and play the fishing game, there's nothing wrong with that. Conversely, there's nothing wrong with someone who rarely plays games and parties all the time. It's just their choice. one of the easiest…
Is all of this sculpted? Because it looks very lumpy. Generally you're much better off doing hard surface detail in a root program like Maya or Max and then do nicks and scratches in a sculpting program. The cloth also needs some more study and reference. It looks decent at the bottom of the pants, but it really falls…
I've been giving this some thought recently as I've needed to update my portfolio. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to create projects that I'm interested in and whore that around if I need to find a job. The reasoning is two fold: 1) If I'm interested in it, I'll enjoy working on it, spend more time and put in…
katzeimsack that looks great, love the water, would love to know how you went about that texture. question though. for art tests when given a concept like the one given here is a good thing to stick to the basic concept of 3 windows, a door, the higher dock, ramp and lower dock while adding secondary props as you see fit?…
Simple but fun is swapping a few keys over - they can be snapped out really easy with a simple twist of a everyday metal knife - switching the Alt and the windows key or swapping the V and the A is a good test of someones touchtyping skills. I left mine swapped just to mess with IT whenever they tried to do stuff to my…
