I got a used 21UX (for 300$) from a game studio that shut-down, and its been going strong for several years. I'd love to upgrade to a new one, but that is a pretty big expense. The color accuracy isnt great, and I notice it has a warm-up period before it achieves accurate brightness/contrast color temp.
I agree with odium, spent 120 or 130 hours in Oblivion, and STILL haven't done everything. Love that game. I'm excited to see this game. Their use of a brand new engine definitely has my attention, I am in the same pot as the rest of you. Gamebryo blows due to stability problems (and the animations are fairly meh too)
It doesnt need to be a huge SSD, just have one to begin with, i have a cheap 120gb one and its working realy fine. (all other data and games that dont really need an ssd are on my both HDD's) But if cost is no factor get a bigger one 120 gb is getting kiiinda cramped pretty fast
i wonder what there point was for making it harder to play with known friends. Its not like friends made it easier in Demons souls. Bosses did about 300-600 more damage on NG++++ With friends for me. As they said it gets harder in Multiplayer Now the hard part is waiting until your both in the same server to play together
Adam be careful with what you do, it might work for awhile but you might end up with failed drive in the future. I use Partition Magic and works fine but find out if there can be any issues with having a 300 gig partition, it would suck if you lost your 3d work cause Windows sucks. Alex
We've been bringing in interns fairly regularly here recently, through a Boston school that mandates the students do at least 120 hrs of intern time. It's a good arrangement for both. Mostly just bug testing and play testing, not that exciting, but they do sit in the same area as the artists so they get to see how things…
As an update, I'm looking at a Vaio SZ that is rather beefy and only 3.9 lbs. The only thing holding me back right now is the expected bloatware Vaios ship with and Vista (most of the games I play are older anyway, like NWN). I'd also rather not plunk down another 300 for XP. We'll see though.
Hey folkes, thanks for all the suggestions, i will have to spend the lunchbreak to check out all the sites. Im not sure i know what TN and VA stand for, but yeah, im probably going to try and get a 24" if i can for £300 but id rather have better colour representation than larger realestate
first off, WTF? Anybody want some fish? I've been compiling a list of fish and their worth from Tom Nook. Tuna - 7,000 Footbal Fish - 2500 Sea Butterfly - 1000 Bitterling - 900 Olive Flounder - 800 Octopus - 500 Dab - 300 Dace - 200 Sea Bass - 160 Horse Mackeral - 150
Same thing for me, 3ds max tends to shake beyond the 1.5 million poly bar for everyone factory default, so more ram is your friend. And also notice that Mudbox files are sometimes 120 megs, which means that every bit is sealed on your HHD and not cloging your Virtual mem. have fun
