Yup, upon first glance I really thought that first shot was a ref photo. Would love to see some texture flats for this...especially for those hunks of beef. One critique I have, which was touched on lightly by someone else, is that aside from the pooling blood and the chunks of meat...I feel like the rest of the area is…
Hi you dont have to do what I suggest, its laready coming along well but heres some ideas. Yeah I meant the mechanical parts more like steel (the claw pieces) and maybe the guns as well. The colour scheme is ok, I would suggest trying some other more land based military colours just to see what fits best also there seemm…
I started 2 and a half years ago. The first year was hard, not only personal stuff, but trying to keep $$ coming in AND sit in front of the computer doing something. Everything seemed out of my reach, and I spent a lot of time going in circles. The first year was shit. Wasted time. I wasn't making solid plans. Attainable…
@njc6425: I'm not too sure what to do with the grain..without it, the planks just look like slabs of brown chunky things. And if a take out some grain, it just begins to look weird. Should I add more variation in the colour? I don't want to get too crazy with it because my scene might get too 'noisy'. @urgaffel: I changed…
looking ace, but what would be to expect from you guys? that said, i feel like it could be improved with some more definition/sharpness maybe it is the shading and lighting, but the topmost image feels almost like on of those realistic 70/80/90ies airbrush pieces, which have been really hard to get crisp/defined due to the…
Yep :) Before I would have to hand tweak my specular, env maps, put a falloff and all kinds of hack stuff just to get a simple puddle of water... A lot of stuff is done for you now it is just inputting stuff as said. After a while you do not need the charts I only uses the charts when I am tightly trying to debug my level.…
The whole Victory Games = BioWare Victory thing still confuses the feck out of me. Are they trying to cash in on Bioware's succes by labelling another studio with the same name? I mean, that's quite a dubious thing to do, and it's a really, really good way of destroying a brand (although EA have been pretty good at…
If it's still blurry there are two things to consider. 1. Sharpen the image. Use the "unsharp mask" for this, found in filter > sharpen > unsharp mask. When I make textures, that is my last step, I sharpen it up slightly. Keep threshold at 0 levels always, and then don't let the radius get above 2.0 pixels (it's pointless…
First you have to decide what you want out of your composition -> here comes the story Yes block out look better because is still not overpopulated and you have some dynamic established by diagonal through train tracks - bridge , if you can repeat that few more time for example in rock above and conveyor belt to the right…
The scene looks great! One thing you need to dial in now is your lighting and color. Your current image is very flat and washed out by your atmosphere pretty heavily. I took this to the 'shop and you're darkest value was 29% with brights in the upper 70's/low 80's. I think you could push it more, just like what your seeing…
