The Pet Store Introduction Hi, here I am creating my project titled The Pet Store, which is game based off of motor skills, and providing a kooky environmental twist. This game has been well plotted out, and filled with rhythm of my debt to this industry. This game will be a 3D Mobile, Gyroscope movement game. The game…
Some patterns are 1024 textures tiled many times, and it looks much better than baked 4k texture. Look Steel character for example. It will even look good not in ultra settings. Some of materials may have different fuzz (cloth, leather) or fresnel sheen (metals).. scratches on metal are tiled again. Extra details can be…
I'm pretty glad I did so much planning before trying to make textures for the tower, but I still feel like I realized a bunch of new things as soon as I jumped in and started making textures. First of all, I definitely need to make a trim sheet, which should be easy now that I know what pixel resolution I'm working at.…
So here is my personal opinion on what you could keep / should get rid of :) You could keep (with some tips for improvement): - The shield: it's too flat -> work on the specular map, diffuse (damage, wear etc.) and normal map (get the details in there) - The wooden thing with the rope: it has a kinda strange and noisy…
Looking at the stones, there is no way this could ever be from photo to normal, those are very likely 3D sculpted and then baked down. Youll never get such normals from a bitmap to normal generator. This is kinda what you get from a bitmap to normal generator, used the same stone image as base. The tool can not possibly…
What I do is basically go to middle of the map and start digging tunnel there, make sure you are maxxed out with resources and you have some gold to build up the bomb workshop right below them, after all you should have decent amount of gold coins as you dig all the stone along the way, the worst possible scenario is…
Hi, The contest is awesome. I've been dying to get back to Hexel for so long and this look like the best opportunity to do so. I have a few questions regarding the contest, if that's okay. 1 - Is it mandatory to use an existing game for our submissions ? The submissions said "A high resolution image (PNG or GIF), no…
I'm liking where this is going. The roof shingle texture and the flagstones in particular. The stone border at the base of the well I think you could cut down on the edge highlights a bit. Overall I think most of the textures could use some more hue variation within the values and as things shift in value. By which I mean…
Sounds awesome Riki. If work crunching isnt too bad I will defiantly try to enter this as it sounds pretty fun. Couple of questions though. For the ground plane dose it have to pretty much just be a plane? Or if I were to do say stones could the stones have some slight depth to the sides of them so its not just a flat…
Both your rocks and your concrete look way too smooth. It's a common problem with ZBrush that a lot of the tools end up being really blobby/organic, and you've got to be careful to keep the harder lines. Remember, concrete has larger stones in it. Don't be afraid to make it chunky. Yours looks like it's got minor skin…
