On the bright side, his account has been active in 2011, and he's posted in 2009. So unless it's -really- slow working rat poison, I think he's still alive. But given that he's not been around for 3 years, chances are he's not coming back (to the forums).
I've poked around and there are some libraries I can use to do that. The most complicated part is probably re-saving them after modification and preserving whatever weird stuff PS might (potentially) keep in there. http://everwas.com/2009/04/best-code-comment-ever/
rocks are fun, but can turn to blobs if you're not careful. I find anything organic is fun to do in mudbox or zbrush if you ever make it to zbrush, I love these brushes, maybe some of it can translate over to mudbox http://www.selwy.com/2009/zbrush-clothes-tutorial/
Ah, I was wondering about that. Im in 3ds max 2009 right now trying to figure out how to get my normals on my low poly. Any help/tutorials are apreciated. Im looking some up on you tube now but its providing frustrating.
The FBX importer is a bit wonky in UDK. The collision definitely requires a UCX_ prefix, but what follows is uncertain. Sometimes it works with a suffix of the object name, sometimes it doesn't. I usually just end up calling them UCX_001, 002, etc - and that works fine. It seems buggy.
I honestly don't know what the issue could be, mind setting up textures, model and scene in folder and pming them to me, 2009, 2011 and 2012 are the versions I tested on, so either one of them should be fine. I'm sorry for all the trouble peeps!
pretty interesting, I'm messing with it now. It seems he developed it in max 2011, it's very buggy in 2009. It's an encrypted MAXscript so there's no way to tweak it to fix errors. Also kind of wish the brick generator would lay things out so the maps you bake tiled.

Looking very good, I'm making a little Tomte want to build him a house? :pleased: They live in little cabins like this one, in either case the house is looking very nice. https://cdn1.cdnme.se/cdn/7-2/373353/images/2009/cu3_65969314.jpg
Only thing I wonder about is the "20 039" on the side of the cylinder, a unique detail like this would mean you would need some kind of case in the animation cycle to get it to show only every sixth shot. Looks freakin' ace like usual man.
